Adrian,

I think your best bet is to break the pieces down in After Effects and import QT movies into Lyric and do your transitions there. This will give you much more flexibility. Create looping elements so all the pieces sync together. Group them so that you can animate them in and create Effect Ins and Outs. You might need to bring your opacity down further in AE - I noticed that my movies in lyric weren't as keyed as they were in AE. If you've used Lyric before, then you'll know what to expect - if not, you'll quickly discover its shortcomings. It takes me at LEAST 10 times longer to animate something in Lyric than it does in AE.
