Timer Macros- Lyric Pro 6.5
by Mike Saelee on Nov 11, 2008 at 11:11:56 pm

Hello,

Basically I'm trying to add a count-down timer to one of my messages that is persistant in the output. I got the timer in an in/out transition and was able to control its reset/start/stop actions, etc. However, I'm having trouble detecting its state of time. For example, when the timer ticks down from 1 minute to 0 second, I would like to detect that 0 second within a macro & assign it to perform another task. The only workaround about doing this is creating a 1 minute timeline and assigning an event handler to execute a timer macro(shown below) at the end of this 1 minute timeline.

Below is the macro-snippet I that I have built to reset/start the timer that's currently in the ouput air/channel:
-----------
Set FB = FrameBuffer(1)
set sc = FB.SceneByName("HOME3")

sc.element("Timer 1").Element(0).Action("Reset")
sc.element("Timer 1").Element(0).Action("Start")
-------------

The reason I would like to control this through a macro entirely is the fact that having a long timeline will slow down other persistant messages' transition that are currently in the Output. What happens if I want to throw in a 30 minute timer, right?

If anyone who's experienced in macros with Chyron's Lyric Pro & have the answer to this please let me know. If not, at least guide me to where I can obtain a book or guide/tutorial of advanced macros used in Lyric Pro. Macros in Lyric Pro are basically vbscripts & usually aren't hard to program.

Thanks!
-Mike
