Geoff MuttonWatcher to create an "Upload me" folder
by on Sep 20, 2010 at 8:49:54 pm

Hello there,
It's my first post and my first week with FCS.

FCS is intimidating in it's complexity, but I don't mind a challenge, so I'm looking forward to getting my teeth into it.

OK, here's my first (of likely more than one!) question:

I have worked out how to set up a watcher that will copy (then delete) a file from an "Ingest" folder putting it into the Library. I was expecting for this to create an asset, so that I could have a folder on my desktop that I could throw .movs into and know that they'd be in FCS next time I looked, with all the relevant proxies and so on.

It's copying the file and deleting just fine, but the movie doesn't show up as an asset in my client.

Obviously, I'm missing something - anyone fancy helping me get off the blocks and telling me what it is?
