Smoothing motion
by Tom Westgate on May 2, 2008 at 7:20:38 pm

Following along with Andrew Kramer's latest tutorial on Bump Maps, I decided to try a comp wherein the background is a large image and the camera zigs and zags to different spots each time landing on a new text element.

I think I'm okay with the camera movement, as it hovers over the text element for 2 seconds, then moves on. However, I've got a little point light following along with the camera that is a little jerky.

It's not parented to the camera, as I want it to float around, fall behind, catch up, etc. But each time it gets to a keyframe, it seems to stop a bit, then go on. I want fluid smooth movement the entire time, though.

I found a previous thread here that either I couldn't figure out or doesn't exactly apply.

Any hints?
