m2Ts Files on MAC

I'm not sure this is the place to ask this question, but if you know something regarding this issue or could recommend me to another resource I'd appreciate it.

I have a external hard drive (Western Digital 1TB My Book) with m2Ts Video Files on it. I used a pc with Windows to download the files on to the drive.

Now I have a MAC Pro and when I plug in the drive , it doesn't show me the files (only folders). When I plug it back into the pc...I can see the files but not open them.

I need to know how to open and use them on both a MAC and a PC.

Any ideas?
