There is a freeware alternative to Paragon NTFS, it`s called NTFS-3G with MacFuse. But as it treats NTFS drives as network drives, it`s not nearly as fast as a native drive.
I had bad luck with Paragon NTFS, it basically destroyed some of my files, which just began to disappear. Finally, the whole partition was empty. Drive info told me that the space is still occupied, but I couldn`t see or open any of the files. I was finally able to recover some of them with recovery software, but I for myself cannot recommend paragon, as it is unathorized, hacked implementation of NTFS protocol.
