Edius NX on MacPro 2.66GHz Quad

Using Boot camp and Windows XP.
Edius NX runs fine, but if I close down and then immediately re-boot the computers hangs up before POST. Leaving the computer off for a minutes before booting up enables normal boot up. The same problem exists regardless of whether I close down from OSX or Windows - it does not even get as far as to allow me to make the choice of OS. Recovery from the Sleep mode is also impossible. The same behaviour is experienced when closing down from OSX. Both the Edius NX cards and the Mac have been checked by GV or an ASP and have been declared OK. The ASP replaced the motherboard and this improved the situation to what it is now; before it took half an hour to recover!
Does anyone else have this, a similar problem or an answer?
Thanks in advance,
Geoff
