Vector or not vector, that is the question

Hi there,

I received this document from a graphist, done in Ilustrator. Look at the A, why do I have pixels here, although this is vectorized ?
I thought it was ok, but when I import it in AE for animation it's not good at all... I should have miss something in Illustrator
