For future retouching work you might consider using a Levels adjustment layer with a high gamma value at the top of your layers. You can switch this on to check how the colors in your retouching are matching up with the colors in the original image (without having to go all the way to the TV).
This works because it exaggerates the differences between similar colors, pushing them farther apart. So two colors that
look
the same on your display may obviously
not
be the same when you check it with your Levels adjustment layer.
This doesn't actually help you fix poor retouching, but it will help you spot it before you think you're done!
