REDCINE-X + FCP + Color

I'm having about ten different problems right (mild exaggeration alert).

Here is what I did: created Apple ProRes 422 proxies to edit my 4k RAW RED footage in FCP7. Finished my edit, then exported both an EDL and an XML.

Downloaded the FCP Studio Red Support Plug In. Attempted to open the EDL in Color: it crashes every time (have tried this on multiple different machines with the same result).

So...I opened the EDL in RedCineX. It was able to re-link all of my proxies with R3D files. However, when I go to export an XML it crashes. I tried another computer and it was able to export an XML, but COLOR crashed when I tried to import that.

Honestly, I've read a few different ways of doing this, but I cannot seem to find a step by step walkthrough of how to grade 4K in Color.

A couple of things: my timeline contains 4K, 2K and a couple of pickup shots from a Canon 5D. Could that be what's causing it to crash? (seems unlikely, as Color usually just disregards elements it doesn't support)

I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find anything on it in the forums.
