you can't media manage r3d in fcp.
best bet is to deliver the whole 3TB & fcp project to colorist so he can stay in the "red workflow white paper" - a straightforward procedure if you used log & transfer to get the r3d into fcp. if you used something else to make your 2k prores, then the colorist will need the 3TB anyway to reconform using clipfinder etc.
