Thank you Stuart. In a way you are correct when you say that other solutions may not be as inexpensive as FCP.

I am not sure whether FCP in its current incarnation could handle RED RAW (.R3D) 4K files directly.

Many folks think that they have to "own" these other applications in order to get something done at their end. I have met people who are adamant that they HAVE to keep all applications they use, inside their computers and that computer must reside in "their" office, living room, bedroom whatever. There is nothing wrong with this idea if you can afford all the stuff that you dream of. However, there is a saying "You do not have to buy a cow to get your milk". Wise individuals may rent the time and resources from a post-house, to get the job done. Heck, if you network with right people, you may even get what you want for an affordable fee (or even barter).
