Then I'd suggest an offline edit in FCP, either native or ProRes. Native is faster in the beginning, but less fluid during your work, ProRes needs heavy transcoding times, but is smoother to work with.

When your edit is confirmed, conform back with Monkey Extract and generate DPX files to hand them over.
