Crimson Work-flow No-Flow
by Eamon Glennon on Jun 17, 2009 at 6:06:34 am

Hi,
Just testing out the Crimson worflow 9.2 demo to see if I like it enough to buy it. I have a big Red project coming up and I'm experimenting w different work-flows.

I transcoded a bunch of clips with RedRushes into Pro-Res Half Res (High)

I cut some stuff together in FCP. Imported an XML into Crimson and Crimson cannot match my list to the R3D files. (Tried a lot of things and still no go.)

So undaunted I matched them manually. Exported a cowboy intermediate XML, and Created Intermediates for my clips.

My clips all load into Redcine just fine but Redcine cannot construct a build with my Crimsoned XML.
(I tried all the recommended settings too.)

Crimson seems easy enough but it really failed to work.

I compared the timecode to random R3d clips in Redcine to Clips in my project and theres a big difference.

Also clips transcoded with Redrushes have two different timecodes?

I'm totally new to RED and really have been studying the workflow but I'm stumped.

Not sure which of the three software applications is failing.
