Hi JP

well, i don't know what has happened but I deleted the preferences file you suggested and restarted Mocha. Straight away the app. fit nice on the screen. this time however when I shut it down and then opened it straight back up as a test the app was over-large again and once again un-adjustable. But I went through the process of deleting the file again and this time in the Mocha preferences adjusted the maximum size from 100% to 65% and shut down the program. when I opened it up again it was the same size as the first time i opened it, just nice. the maximum size thing didn't actually alter the size of the layout but I noticed it did save a different version on the layout in the com.imagineersystems pref folder. anyway long story short with a little perseverance it's all working fine now so thanks for all the help mate I am now officially a very happy customer.

all the best
John
