surface moving out and then into frame again

Hi Ross
I have been given a test shot where the area to be tracked (a monitor screen) partially goes out of shot and then comes back in. Either 'end' of the shot seems fine, ie. tracking until it disappears - about half the screen goes out - works, and so does tracking from the point of re-entry, but I can't get the surface to interpret the correct position across the whole shot. What should I be keyframing? Can the surface position itself be keyframed?
Thanks
A
