Dubbing HD footage (shot with a P2 camera) to a tape
by Matt Kelly on May 27, 2009 at 6:52:37 pm

Hi,

I just bought a Panasonic HPX300 and intend to use it on all my shoots. However, one of my clients is asking for all his footage to be delivered to him on DVCPRO tapes.

Now, supposed I'm shooting for him, using the HPX300 set to the DVCPRO HD format, and all of the footage is recorded on to P2 cards...

Is there an easy way to dub that footage on to those tapes without loss of quality?

I suppose I could ingest it all into FCP and just re-export everything on to tape...is that really the only solution?
