Hi Dave,

> "Either way I like that method better than changing it on the timeline."

Changing media properties in the Project Media window and on the timeline has absolutely no difference. Media properties change the properties of the media file :)
> "My question --is this something that I need to be doing to these clips/events? Is changing the field order a logical thing to do to render this footage to DVD (to make it look good)? I've done this because it works, but am I doing something wrong with Vegas setting/properties that is causing me to have to do this in the first place?"

It is VERY important that Vegas interprets the media properties correctly. Especially the field order. Otherwise, you'll get bad results. Try the following: Set the correct field order and save it as a profile for future use. These settings will be used whenever a file of that type is detected.

p.s. Vegasaur Field Order Analyzer will help you to identify the correct field order of your video files. And Quick Properties to change it in a batch
