Sony Vegas Pro 10.0 has been extremely stable for me. I just built a new PC and I only have Vegas Pro 11.0 on it and so far I haven't seen a reason to go back to 10 but if 11 isn't stable for you, I would just go back to 10. Learning something new is not trivial. I have Premiere as part of my Adobe CS6 (which I bought for After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator) and every time I try and learn Premiere I give up. Everything is 10x harder to do than in Vegas Pro. I would stay away from Pinnacle, unless you want to appreciate the stability of Vegas Pro because Pinnacle is just a bag of bugs. I don't know about the others as I haven't tried them.
