Firstly I'm delighted and hope this helps out someone else.
After a fresh install of my OS (w7) I couldn't get AVI files to load into VP11 - age old problem. Getting a good old "Codec Error"
I tried the trick of Copying the AVIPLUG.dll from Vegas Premium (32bit).
It worked prior to the reinstall but not subsequently.
Anyway I know this is a common issues so I wanted to post as I've not seen this step mentioned or considered. (I apologise for the vagaries, but this stuff is well above my pay-grade)
Not sure exactly what had the desired effect but after installing:
- Calalyst Control Center
- Gamer OSD
- MS dotnet.frame work
Everything is now working as expected. replaced the dll file as per recommendations found on this site and bada-bing I'm 32bit happy again!!!!!
For whatever reason, I pretty sure it was as a result of installing the dot.net that did it.

This is widely used and it's normally installed at some point with other software. Of course after a fresh install it's no longer there.
Maybe someone can confirm?????
I, of course, have an AMD card, hence the other bloatware.
I hope that helps someone else and saves a few late late frustrating nights
Peace
