monitor used for editing

After trying all the fixes posted and upgrades from Sony I still find Vegas 11 buggy and frustrating to use sometimes. But some of you have been using and enjoying the software without issues. That being said I was wondering if one's monitor choice would have something to do with the unstability. (am I reaching here...you can tell I'm frustrated) for example I am using a 42 inch flat screen tv as a monitor, overkill for sure but could that have an impact?
