Sean SuttonSafe pan/crop/zoom percentage?
by on Apr 11, 2012 at 9:32:37 pm

I shot in HD and would like to zoom in on a subject, cropping some annoying areas round the edges of the scene.

I understand that if I zoom/crop then I'm going to lose some resolution, but is there a 'safe' amount I can zoom without any obvious picture distortion/pixelation? The finished result will project on a (relatively) small cinema screen.

Just wondering if anyone's done this and what advice you'd offer for this problem.

Thanks!

Sean James Sutton - an English actor & filmmaker in Italy.
