Ken BennettVegas Crashing System - Potential Hardware Issues?
by on Jan 30, 2012 at 10:46:37 pm

I've been having a crashing problem for a week or so while running Vegas Pro 10e. Then all seemed fine. Then the crashes started again today. Always happens while Vegas is running and the computer has been on for 4+ hours. What happens is I suddenly lose video signal to both my monitors. Computer may or may not still be running the program. No way of telling when the monitors lose signal.

I reboot. Start Vegas. Runs for about 5 minutes then I lose video signal again. On the 3rd reboot it crashes before it gets through Windows 7 boot process.

Once it crashed during timeline playback and along with the video signal lose my audio got hung-up and started buzzing.

Hardware starting to fail? Power supply? Graphics card? MOBO??

Thoughts!

System: Supermicro MOBO X7DWA-N, dual Xeon 2.56Mhz CPUs, 16BM RAM, WIN 7 64bit, 4 internal HDDs, two external RAID HDDs. NVIDIA 4700GTX graphics card.

Thanks,

Ken Bennett
