Dear Eric,

I checked the system and task manager shows just 10-20% cpu usage while playing the files. Also unfortunately the software im using to playback the files only accepts avi or mpeg. Thats the reason im trying to render to mpg since it offers sharper output than .avi i think, but correct me if im wrong. I wouldnt mind an avi alternate. The reason i have only playback with this presentation software is because it handles the video along with controlling motion automated equipments that are part of the show. And it does everything in programmed sync so i have no other option to playback.

This file's bitrate is 30Mbps and runs smoothly on the other system which has the same specs SATA HDD as the problem system in question. I have a seperate media player which runs this same mpeg from an even low spec IDE drive. So i doubt its a throughput problem.

Any other suggestions of what i can try ?

Thanks
