HDV capture - splitting many clips

I'm traying to capture HDV (720-30p from my JVC) in Vegas 8 and set the preferences to NOT enable scene detection.... however Vegas is still making many small clips even when it is not supossed to detect a change in scenes..... never hapeneed before ... is this a bug from Vegas 8???
