AVCHD Quicktime File Crashing Vegas

One of my HD cameras, a Casio EX-F1 DSLR form factor unit, records AVCHD as a .MOV file at 1920 x 1080i and at 720p. The 720p works fine in Vegas 8.0c, but the 1080i turns a heavy green cast when placed on the timeline and immediately crashes the app. The only media players that play these 1080i without any problems are Arcsoft's Total Media Extreme, which came with the camera, and Nero Showtime, (I use Nero 6.6 version). The rudimentary editor included in Nero, Vision, handles these files just fine. Even the latest Quicktime player has issues, and, I have the latest Quicktime Pro installed as well. My main test workstation is a Core 2 Duo 6600 with 2 GB of ram, running on Vista Ultimate which has been rock solid. Anyone?
