First, I heartly agree with Mike and DSE's replies above.

Secondly, 2 other items. 1. I've had more problems personally with Sony DVD drives that I won't use them anymore. I curently use an older HP LightScribe drive with no problems.

2. Your media. Have you tried using different -R Media? I highly recommend the TY high quality media. I've also had problems with Maxell media and don't use them either. You always want to use the highest quality Media you can afford. Not the Best-Buy / Walmart type media.

So you have a number of things to check and try out.
