Do you have another firewire piece of hardware that you can plug into that port? Like maybe a camera to capture video?

I blew a firewire port once myself but it did't afffect Vegas, just couldn't use the port.

You have to narrow down if it's the port or the ADVC110. I have the AVDC100.
