You'll get better results using a screen cap application running at the same time as you run the PPT slides.
The DV version is very low resolution compared to the original display resolution, and more importantly, they're heavily compressed, so you've lost a lot of information as a result.
If the slides didn't have animations, then I'd recommend simply exporting the PPT as a series of PNGs, but of course, that means you have to hand-animate using transitions in Vegas. Not fun if you have many animations in the show.
