Power Point Question

I am working on a video presentation of a workshop that was done 2 weeks ago. I am editing 3 camera angles together of the speaker and the audience. In addition, the client wants to have shots of the PowerPoint presentation fill the screen, including all animation, at the appropriate times. I ran the PP presentation on my laptop and sent it out to my Sony VX2100 via the S-video jacks. I recorded on mini DV tape and captured the footage to my hard drive. For some reason the slides don't look sharp. Any other ideas of how I could get better results? I'm using Vegas 5 to edit. Thanks.
