Closed (Optional / DVD Menu Chosen) Subtitles for Movie

All I want to do for this state technology competition is to put my fifteen minute movie from Vegas and burn it with a menu and the ability to have subtitles on the screen or not to use as lyrics. I have had the worst trouble ever downloading tons of programs--working endlessly--trying to figure this out. How do you put optional subtitles like the ones you see on DVD movies you buy (whether it be chosen via the menu by a button or via the remote) on your movie using the Sony software? It needs to be able to work both in a DVD player and in a computer's virtual DVD player. I have Vegas 8.0 and DVD Architect Studio 4.5. This competition is looming very closely, and I have to do this soon. Is this something that you have to have Architect Pro for or will Studio work? Just someone please help me to do these optional subtitles.
