Recording into Vegas from an analog board

I have one other question. I realize that there are more efficient and robust applications to use for music recording, mixing, etc. however I am not a professional producer and I just need to input individual instruments simultaneously and I am familiar with Vegas. Let's say a you have 8 musicians playing live (14 inputs for mics and drum kit) and you want to separate the instuments/mics on 14 different individual tracks on the Vegas timeline. Is that possible from an analog board?? I guess you would need some sort or firewire card on the board to connect but is there another way of doing it??

Any advice would be great... I would really like to accomplish this in Vegas if possible..
