Re: 24p effect in Vegas??

Good suggestion. I just tried this a moment ago, and while it does yield a 24p file, it's not quite the effect I'm going for. With this method, there seems to be way too much blurring or field blending (especially with fast motion in the frame). The Avid effect has nice sharp frames with no blending or blurring. In some ways, the output looks better than our DSR-450 camera on its 24p mode. It's hard to describe, but it really adds a richness to the picture without causing any interlacing, blurring, or blending issues. It does have its drawbacks though. Sometimes there's a bit of distortion during a cut or dissolve, and other times there may be a bright spot in the picture that becomes pixelated. Not sure why this is.. just the nature of the filter I guess.

Any other thoughts? Surely there are folks out there that want the film cadence of 24p applied to 60i video. I have the Magic Bullet effects, and as great as they are, it still looks like 60i video when it's done. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'll keep fiddling with it as well.
