Re: RENDER problems - Nucleo?

By lowering the memory settings in the After Effects interface (and restarting) Nucleo is able to use the freed memory for it's own processes. Remember in your system that whatever is now available needs to be split four ways so the gains aren't as big as they could be.
If the memory requirement is quite large you may need to disable Nucleo Pro and simply work with After Effects itself.
The other alternative is to force the memory setting for the Nucleo processes. This may give them enough memory but you'll likely start using virtual memory like crazy. Although you'll have 4 processes rendering frames the extra disk access from the virtual memory may outweigh any benefits...
Quit AE and go to /Users/-your home-/Library/Preferences/Gridiron/Nucleo
Open the file "NucleoPro2.cfg" in Textedit
Find the line that reads:
nucleo.cache.max.memory.setting=default
Change it to read:
nucleo.cache.max.memory.setting=60
Save the file, quit TextEdit and restart AE
Now the Nucleo render processes will each have a RAM cache of 60% - use the Activity Monitor to see how memory usage goes as you render...
