Once you render out the particle via record, then resolution is fixed.
This is normal for all recorded footage.
To get the particle to do what you want, you need to do it in PI via the background image.
It's like when you film a person talking in front of say a bookcase, and now you want to size the footage down to make it seem further away, the book shelf does not magically fill the screen.
Same thing here because it has been prerecorded.
