Sand Pile Up/ Hourglass effect

Hello! I could really use some HELP! I have been racking my brain over creating a realistic looking sand pile up effect.

I found this one on this site...but it is quite old 2003 I think

But it is exacly what I need...I want to fill up a glass with sand...it is mostly the piling up sand I am concerned with not the falling sand...I have particle illusion and I been able to create the falling sand but not the piling up sand...the link about has a post from Jason stating that he has made this effect using two emitters within PI but his link to his tutorial did not work...

Any help would be grately appreciated!!!
