Igniting A Soccer Ball - The Tutorial
by Jeff Bellune on Feb 28, 2008 at 6:58:40 pm

Several months ago I uploaded a demo video to the forum that showed kids in a rec soccer league playing with an apparently fiery soccer ball.

Here is the link to that discussion: http://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/23/859391

That clip was well-received (thanks, everyone!) and Aharon Rabinowitz requested that I create a tutorial on the workflow that I used.

After finding time to actually do the tutorial, and then acquiring the necessary web-compression and tutorial-making skills (thanks, Aharon!), the first part of that tutorial is complete.

I would have liked to have finished the tutorial as a single file. But the more I examined my workflow it became obvious that there was just too much material to cover in one session. So now it’s a two-part tutorial.

Part 1 is available now as both a Flash version and as a podcast. Here are the links:

Flash version (13:19, 32 MB, 800x600)

Podcast (13:19, 37 MB, 320x240)

You can either watch the podcast in your browser by left-clicking the link, or you can download it for your iPod by right-clicking the link and choosing "Save Link As..."

Part 2 is coming very soon.
