Helmut,

Both the HDOne & HDPro do support automatic boot-up, but the HDOne or HDPro's need to have the power supply operating in order for that to occur, since they are not powered by the bus, ie, PCIe. If you power off your HOST machine & not the HDOne or HDPro, only the power supply on the HDOne or HDPro will have power, unless you power the unit (HDOne or HDPro) off completely.

In addition, the power supply (HDOne) or supplies (HDPro using 1 or the optional 2nd power supplies) in stand-by mode are not under a full load, since the hard drives are not in operation and are not pulling as much current as they would be with the hard drives running.
