The default password is 00000000 (that is 8 0's)
Unless yo have an important need for two partitions, there is really not reason to do that.
RAID Shield will allow you to monitor and make changes to your RAID, but comes formatted for RAID 5, so you don't have to do anything out of the box.
From the HDOne documentation:
The RAID Shield utility is a quick and easy way
to check on the status of your HDOne but is not
necessary for day to day use. If you've followed the
steps outlined in this manual, your HDOne should be
ready for use
