S2VR HD problems
by Justin Pokrant (LankBeach) on Jul 10, 2008 at 5:23:59 pm

I am having alot of problems with my computer lately and think it may be due to my S2VR HD drive.

When working in Final Cut with footage that resides on the drive it drops frames often and when media managing projects it freezes the applications. I have to force quit FCP every time, but it never actually quits - the app shuts down but the arrow underneath doesn't go away in the dock. So I then have to hard restart the computer.

Also when running disk warrior on it the last time the application froze leaving all the white lights lit up and just one blue one lit up second from the top.

Does this sound like a caldigit drive error? Are there any other tests I can do to figure out exactly what is wrong?

My system specs are FCP 6.0.4, quicktime 7.5, OS 10.5.4.

I have also repaired all the disks, zapped the p ram, repaired the disk permissions on the HD which leads me to believe the caldigit drive is the culprit.

Hopefully someone can chime in and provide some insight.
