Sorry to hear about your issue. Obviously there is an issue with the drive, and since the unit is new it's under warranty. I'll have our support team contact you and they can get you a new drive.
At CalDigit we make effort effort to buy and test the best quality drives at an affordable price, but drive do fail, which is why we support RAID 1, 5, and 6.
I don't recommend rebuilding the array with a failed drive. Even though it may work, this is not a solution to the issue.
