Our answer: Yes, you can do that, but make sure that you turn on the HDElement before your host machine each time before they startup OS

For safer operation, having separate RAID arrays would be better as some people forget to turn on the HDElements with an internal & external RAID & cause the array to be degraded or damage the data/file system.
