Color Carrousel for a generic textfield.

Hi Everyone,
I am curious if there's a way to achieve this with scripting. Let's say I have a set of 5 colors.(
Color A,B,...,E)
And I have a textfield with some characters.
Eg. Textfield with characters : "JHONNY"
Every character gets color from the set.
Eg. "J" will be in color A,
"H" will be in color B,
"O" will be in color C
... and so on
Now i want that on a time-interval, the colors propagate to the next character:
"J" will be in color B
"H" will be in color C
"O" will be in color D
I am relatively experienced with ae-scripting, but can't find a proper solution for this one. Certainly because I want this for generic text. (I want to reuse it for longer or shorter strings too) Does anyone have some bright ideas, to help me on my way?
Kind Regards.
Wim
