Thanks for your reply Dan. I was afraid I wasn't being clear enough.

I'm trying to do your Character animation "actions" triggered by layer markers expression (this). So I want several actions in the precomps that can be triggered in the main comp by the names of their layer markers (in the example "raise>norm" and "norm>frown" are a few that are used).

But I also want to ramp up between the layer markers. All of my precomp animations (e.g. "raise>norm" and "norm>frown") are 1 second long. When they are triggered by the markers in the main comp I want the 1 second of animation to play out to the next marker in the time line. For example: if the markers on the main comp timeline are two seconds apart, the precomp animation should be stretched out twice as long.
