well to beat this dead horse as everyone else has, but a slightly different slant.
color has no support. you get what you get. if you have your own workflow (although we find every single job is a new workflow now) color can be an awesome tool that has blow away clients in our facility that have been restricted by the options in some very high priced davinci suites. (we just pulled a key, adjusted some curves, custom vignette and voila).
but if you have any problems you are on your own (except for the cow).
also color can work in many workflows which mean that there are many pitfalls - figure them out as you go - not so great a situation with an aggravated high strung, hi power producer or director in the room.
the other high end solutions offer rock solid real time performance, but also with very narrow (albeit highend) workflow requirements. these guys are used to things ALWAYS working NOW (but thats because a very strict workflow process has been developed).
So we use color. but we are also looking at other more stable, more "accepted" systems to get those bigger clients.
But as things are going these days we see those "big" clients getting smaller.
let's see what FCS 3 brings. i know there are color upgrades...
