[Sean Davison] "Agreed but I think it unlikely that Apple will sell the HD version at the current price - That would make it more expensive than FCP which some how doesn't make sense.
I would expect them to sell it for less than FCP meaning we've effectively paid Silicon Color for the privelige of beta testing their software?"
Doubtful. Could happen, but doubtful. Apple kept Shake at $5,000 for Mac and $10,000 for PC when they first got it and kept the price up around $3,000 until recently when it was announced a new software will replace Shake in 2007 or 2008.
What I would expect is that Apple will make Final Touch part of this rumored "Final Cut Extreme" that has been floating around for a while. Supposedly a $10,000 version of FCP that would offer a lot more realtime and high end features than the current FCStudio. That's been rumor for over a year so who knows. I guess we'll know in just over three months what will happen.
