"The new ATI 3870 card (just announced) out performs the x1900xt hands down when it comes to core image."
Caveat: The 3870 doesn't exactly trounce the X1900 XT on the "original" Mac Pro. The minimal performance gains may or may not be worth it for original Mac Pro owners to spend the $$ to upgrade.
