Did you try clicking on the button below the button to select the destination and set it to "events"? Then click the button next to it to select file names, then the button next to that to set numbers. Sorry I can't be more clear as I'm not at my work computer. You need to do this after you've set your output format, Quicktime, DPX, etc otherwise it'll set back to one large file.
This is all in the output tab. The Crimson tutorial video explains it pretty well and you can see what buttons I'm talking about.
