Agreed. Although you can ingest HDV, it strains the processing resources. Expect crashes, and
don't expect to get back what you think you asked for. The i-frame interpolation will likely cause discrepancies in all kinds of effect positioning, key frames, handles... everything that needs a definite start point.

To a certain extent, you get what you pay for. Since HDV is classified as a consumer format, don't expect professional reliability or predictability. It is designed for compact, simple use. Shoot it, cut it, forget it, like news. A pro will get away from the format as quickly as possible after acquisition, and will not use it at any other stage of post.
