Hmmm, transitions have zero effect here as they should not have any effect. Color won't show the dissolve during playback but you can see them in the timeline. Not really sure what's going on with your system specifically, but dissolves should not hang your system during save.

I recently graded 3 shows for example, 26 minutes each, just full of 1 and 2 second dissolves. No issues saving.
